Most pledges made to a website or on a piece of paper are fairly ineffective as there is little real sense of committment.

Better to make a face to face pledge to take a specific environmental action to a friend and ask them to do the same.

Sounds daft? Well it probably is - but then we are all pretty daft to be in this situation where we have bankrupted the planet!

Even more virtuous is to ask a group of friends to do this with you, one pledge per friend, and then ask them to do the same with another group - pyramid selling in reverse!
