Waverley Friends of the Earth – news and campaign priorities

April 2018

Waverley Friends of the Earth is a local group of FoE campaigning in Farnham, Haslemere, Godalming, Cranleigh and the places in between.

There has been a local Friends of the Earth group in this area since at least the 1980s and we have a long and distinguished record of campaigning on local and national environmental issues and some notable successes at both levels.

The campaign priorities for the next 12 months (and probably beyond) will be to support the Friends of the Earth campaign on Air Quality at national and local level and to campaign at  local level on biodiversity issues including bees, the abolition of neonics, reduction in plastics and the potential impact of changes to the various birds and habitats directives which could be undermined by leaving the European Union.

We hope to reinstate a quarterly newsletter shortly.   We are also currently developing a new website and this will be launched shortly. In the meantime we are active on Facebook. Please sign up to receive our posts.
